Foreign Trade

The overall foreign trade in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2014 amounted to USD 31,02 bln. The value of export amounted to USD 21,83 bln., while non-oil exports amounted USD 1,7 bln. The value of imports amounted to USD 9,19 bln.

The structure of non-oil export of pivotal products was as such in 2014: chemical products USD 76,12 mln., cotton  USD 14,50 mln., ferrous metals and products USD 43,92 mln., aluminum and products USD 86,78 mln., fruits and vegetables USD 291,08 mln., animal and vegetable oils USD 190,33 mln., alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages USD 31,88 mln.

The major foreign trade partners in export in the reference period were: Italy (USD 4 805,62 mln., 22,02% - of total export), Indonesia (USD 2 012,32 mln., 9,22%), Germany  (USD 1 925,56 mln., 8,82%), Israel (USD  1 766,95 mln., 8,09 % ), France (USD  1 523,48 mln., 6,98% ), Thailand (USD 839,91 mln., 3,85%), India (USD 778,25 mln., 3,57 % ), USA (USD 745,83 mln., 3,42%), Russia (USD 640,27 mln., 2,93%) and other countries (USD 6 006,75 mln., 27,51%).

The structure of import from the products point of view was as such in 2014: food products  (USD 1 062,64 mln.), machinery, mechanisms, electrotechnical equipments, devices (USD 2 583,38 mln.), transport vehicles and parts (USD 841,9 mln.), ferrous metals and products (USD 1 015,62  mln.), wood and products (USD 128,93 mln.), furniture and parts (USD 115 mln.), pharmaceutical products (USD 225,94 mln.), cement(USD 106,61 mln.), tobacco and tobacco products (USD 399,39 mln.), others (USD 2 708,91 mln.).

The major foreign trade partners in import in the reference period were: Russia (USD (1 314,48 mln., 14,31% of total import ), Turkey (USD 1 286,64 mln., 14%), UK (USD 978,34 mln., 10,65%), Germany (USD 703,64 mln., 7,66%), China (USD 697,08 mln., 7,59%), USA (USD 563,42 mln., 6,13%), Ukraine (USD 419,58 mln., 4,57%), Italy ( USD 272,64 mln., 2,97%), Japan (USD 240,51 mln., 2,62%), and other countries (USD 2 711,37 mln., 29,5%).
