Azerbaijani-Czech business forum was held
Azerbaijani-Czech business forum was held organized by the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) under support of the Ministry of Economics on 16 May. About 100 businessmen operating in energetic, agriculture, finance, transport-logistics, ICT, education and other industries participated in the event from both sides along with the officials.
Rufat Mammadov the Deputy Minister of Economics emphasized the development of the Azerbaijani-Czech relations in the event held at Baku Business Centre. It was stated that, our countries cooperates successfully in the field of the mutual investment.
Our relations in the field of mutual commerce that is one of the main directions of the economic cooperation were expanded. The commercial turnover between our countries exceeded 1 milliard USD being increased 57% in 2018. The Czech companies participated as contractor in Azerbaijan in the state projects with the common price more than 2,8 milliard USD.
The Deputy Minister emphasized the opportunities for the establishment of the joint ventures between the countries, and conducting the experience exchange in the fields of industry, agriculture, energetic, chemistry, transport, tourism, ICT, ecology and etc.
It was emphasized in the business forum that, Azerbaijan gives great importance to the development of the relations with the Czech Republic within the cooperation with the European Union. Azerbaijan plays an important role in the provision of Europe with the energy safety. The European Union is a main foreign trade supporter of our country. The commercial turnover with AU countries reached 13 milliard USD in 2018, and the share of the European Union in the foreign trade of Azerbaijan contains 42%.
By emphasizing about the stability, safety of Azerbaijan, Rufat Mammadov has stated in the political document “Report on business environment of the European Union: Azerbaijan 2018. Opinions of European Union companies operating in Azerbaijan” that, the political stability is one of 5 best factors in the business environment of Azerbaijan. And Azerbaijan stands in the 25th place among 190 countries by moving forward 32 levels in the report “Doing Business 2019” of the World Bank, and was included to the raw of 10 reformist countries.
Rufat Mammadov the Deputy Minister who gave information on successful economic reforms carried out in our republic under the management of the head of state has emphasized that, more than 60% of GDP fall to Azerbaijan’s share. Deputy Minister stated the importance of holding the business forum, business meetings and exhibitions in expansion of the cooperation between the business circles from economic-trade relations development view point, and emphasized today’s business forum as an effective platform in this field.
Radik Vondrachek the Chairman of the Deputies Chamber of the Czech Parliament expressed his satisfaction from the successful development of the country. Radik Vondrachek who mentioned Azerbaijan as the traditional partner of the Czech Republic stated that he is interested in development of the relations with Azerbaijan, the expansion of the mutual economic cooperation, and expressed their great potential in this field.
Then Zohrab Gadirov the Executive director of the Exporters Club and Yaroslav Ganak the President of the Czech Industrialists Union have made speeches on Azerbaijani and Czech business and investment opportunities, Frantishek Masopust the head of the Czech Trade-Industrial Chamber on CIS on cooperation potential with the Azerbaijani companies, and Tomas Godach the manager of the Czech Industrialists Union on activity directions of the Czech industrial companies.
