Within the framework of Azerbaijan-Russia Business Forum that was organized by Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) on 21 June, “R-Farm” (Russia), “Vita-A” LLC (Azerbaijan) and “Azerbaijan Investment Company” OJSC (AIC, Ministry of Economy, Republic of Azerbaijan) signed Protocol of Intention on establishment of modern pharmaceuticals production in Azerbaijan in accordance with international standards.
Parties agreed to start implementation of the project in the territory of Azerbaijan through specially established joint venture – “Hayat Farm”.
“Hayat Farm” was established with the aim to implement long-term program on realization of pharmaceutical complex consisting of following blocks: production, logistics and laboratory.
One of the projects of the program envisages construction of a modern enterprise in partnership with leading production companies by using expertise of “R-Farm” and applying advanced international technologies. Within the framework of the project, analytical and technological transfers will be realized and local high-tech jobs will be created for the pharmaceutical field. For realization of the project, advanced technologies and equipments, along with engineering expertise of European leading companies will be needed.
High grade insulation, automation and a new generation of drugs production with best solutions in its own class will be in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), WHO Technical Report Series, ISPE Good Practice Guide and other international norms and standards.
By the end of 2019, the joint venture is expected to reach its full capacity.
The Chairman of the Council of Directors of “R-Farm” Aleksei Repic: “Thanks to transfer of technologies, the venture will be able to produce highly effective medicines for therapy of oncology, hematology, autoimmune and endocrine, HIV / AIDS, viral hepatitis and other diseases. The usage of modern medicines produced in Azerbaijan will improve conditions for provision of medical care and decrease treatment fees. The favorable investment climate, encouraging export opportunities, tax and other incentives initiated by the Azerbaijani government support realization of innovative projects more effectively”.
The General Director of “Vita-A” Murad Sadikhov noted that this project will encourage cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in pharmaceuticals sector and improve Azerbaijan’s export potential in future.
