The 3-rd meeting of the Ministers of Economy of member countries of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States held in Istanbul

The 3rd meeting of the Ministers of Economy of member countries of the Co-operation Council of Turkic Speaking States held in Istanbul, on June 28.
The Secretary General of the Co-operation Council of Turkic Speaking States, Halil Akıncı spoke about the activity of the Co-operation Council of Turkic Speaking States, the work done by the Council, as well as measures taken for further strengthening the economic cooperation among Turkic speaking states and development of transport corridors.
Highlighting the importance of the meeting held for the 3rd time Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan noted that the meeting was an example of the friendship and cooperation of Turkic speaking states. Zafer Caglayan gave information about the economy of Turkey, opportunities for the expansion of existing economic relations among the member countries. Moreover, the minister said that enhancing the cooperation of Turkic-speaking countries would be useful in the development of the region.
The Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev expressed his gratitude for high-level organization of the meeting. The minister Shahin Mustafayev accentuated that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to enhancing relations with the Turkic speaking states, adding that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr.Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly emphasized it during the CCTS summits. Furthermore, it was noted that, the policy pursued by the head of state supports trade, investment cooperation and development of relations among the entrepreneurs of Turkic-speaking countries.
The Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev pointed out that the member countries of the Council cooperate with each other successfully and highlighted the significance of efficient activities of Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic Speaking Countries (TURKPA), the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), Council of Elders and Turkic Business Council.
It was noted that a steady growth has been observed in the member states of the Council in spite of global crisis processes. As a result of deliberate social and economic policy, macroeconomic stability, stable and sustainable development was ensured, as well as favorable business and investment climate was created, significant measures were taken in the direction of expansion of economic-trade relations in Azerbaijan. The minister Shahin Mustafayev spoke about the achievements of the country, too. Touching upon the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Minister stressed that the occupation policy of Armenia is the single largest obstacle to the development of regional cooperation.
The Minister of Economy and Budget Planning of Kazakhstan Yerbolat Dosayev, the Minister of Economy and Antimonopoly Policy of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariyev pointed out that these countries take an active part in the activity of the Co-operation Council of Turkic Speaking States. Moreover, they expressed that as a result of the joint efforts of the member countries the ties would be further boosted.
Investment agencies of member countries of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (CCTS) signed a memorandum of understanding at the meeting. From the Azerbaijani side, the document was signed by the head of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) Rufat Mammadov.
