On October 21, the Eurasian Cement Forum was held by the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) jointly with "BusinessCem" organization in Baku.
Over 70 cement producers from 14 countries participated at the event.
Opening the forum, Niyazi Safarov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development informed the guest dynamic and sustainable development of the economy, the achievements and successes under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. It was noted that macroeconomic stability was preserved, high speed economic growth was achieved, GDP grew by 3.4 times in the last 10 years. Niyazi Safarov highlighted that the production of construction materials is one of the most important sectors of the industry in the country. Over the past 10 years production of construction materials raised 2.5, as well as cement production increased by 2.3 times. Share of non-state sector in this sphere climbed to 94%. Today's forum will be important in development of relations between cement producers and expansion of partnership ties.
Rufat Mammadov, the head of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation, gave information on favorable business and investment environment, large-scale regional projects implemented and AZPROMO's activity. Furthermore, Omar Afandiyev, made a presentation on "Business climate and construction sector in Azerbaijan".
Moreover, the President of the Kazakh Industry and Construction Materials Association Maral Tompiev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian National Constructors Association Anatoly Sedov, the committee chairman of the Union of Russian Cement Producers Vyacheslav Boltenko, General Manager of "Norm" LLC Hasan Yalchinkaya, deputy chairman at "Akkord Industry-Construction Investment Corporation" Suat Calbiyik, Holcim's directors for sales, marketing and logistics Carlos Terres made presentations on "Prospects for the development of construction materials industry in Kazakhstan", "The current state of the construction of the Russian Federation", "The situation of cement industry and the prospects for the development of cooperation", "Cement for the growing economic power of Azerbaijan", "Major industrial center of the western region", "Holcim and its role in the development of the construction industry of Azerbaijan" relatively. The representatives of "Loesche", "Mollers" "Hazemag & EPR GmbH" companies of Germany, "Unitherm Cemcon" company of Austria, "İnkontreyd", "FLSmidth Russia" "Termo Texno" companies of Russia and other officials made speeches about the activities of their companies at the forum.
The Round Table on "Production and application of the special types of cement" was held with the participation of the companies represented in the forum.
Within the framework of the two-day forum, the 24th International Exhibition "Cement industry and the market" is held.
