On June 24, the V Azerbaijani-Russian Interregional Forum continued in Gabala. The roundtables on the relations and prospects for cooperation in the fields of agriculture, tourism, banking, and business were held on the second day of the Forum.
The information on tourism potential of the two countries and the measures carried out for the development of this area were given to the participants, as well as the prospects of cooperation in this field were discussed in the Roundtable on Opportunities for cooperation in tourism. Along with representatives of the state bodies of Azerbaijan and Russia, the representatives of tourism companies attended the Roundtable.
The views on the experience in the field of agriculture in both countries, the advanced technologies and innovations applied in this area, the expansion of exports, the production of ecologically clean agricultural products were exchanged, as well as various presentations were held by the companies in the Roundtable on Agriculture. Roundtable was attended by representatives of the relevant government agencies, companies that specialize in the agricultural area, institutions and educational institutions.
The history of the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russian banks, achievements, joint projects and future prospects for cooperation were discussed in the Roundtable on Banking held with the participation of the representatives of the Central Bank and a number of commercial banks, the National Fund for Entrepreneurship Support, as well as the Russian banks. At the same time, exchange of experience between the banks of the two countries, the possibilities of further expansion of business relations were discussed; questions of mutual interest were answered, too.
The representatives of the government agencies of both countries and businessmen delivered speeches, AZPROMO informed about business and investment opportunities in Azerbaijan, a video on the functions and services of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation were displayed, bilateral meeting were held between businessmen.
Making closing remarks at the forum, the Minister of Industry and Economy Shahin Mustafayev and Minister of Regional Development of the Russian Federation Igor Slyunyayev pointed out that the forum would contribute to the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.
Then the moderators' reports were heard on the discussions and conclusions of the round tables held on June 23-24 (tourism, humanities, and agriculture, banking, business, and investment, transport and energy sectors).
The agreements on the cooperation have been signed with a number of Azerbaijani and Russian companies within the framework of the forum. In particular, the agreements on the cooperation were signed among the Russian Ministry on economic development of the Rostov region and the Azerbaijani "Matanat A" company, Russian "Agroholding Stariy Sad" OJSC and the Azerbaijani "CTC Holding" company, "Trade House of Dagestan" JSC and Azexfruit company. The agreement on cooperation in the sphere of delivery of glass to Azerbaijan was signed between the Dagestan Glass containers LLC and Azersun Holding. Also an agreement was signed between the Dagestan's "Yugagroholding" and "Investment Group" LLC of Azerbaijan.
The forum adopted an appeal addressed to the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia.
It should be noted that the Minister of Regional Development of the Russian Federation Igor Slyunyayev met with the heads of the Azerbaijani companies that implementing projects in Russia. During the meeting, Igor Slyunyayev interested in the implementation of projects carried out in Russia, as well as listened to the businessmen' requests. The expansion of relations were also discussed in the meeting.
The Russian delegation visited Gabala Canning Factory, Gabala Shooting Center, and got acquainted with tourism potential of Gabala.
