Entrepreneurship continues to develop in Azerbaijan. 3833 new enterprises and organizations were registered in Azerbaijan in the period of January-June, 2013. 3337 of them are of private property, 148 are state-owned and 3 were registered by the municipalities. Noteworthy, 265 of the registered enterprises are 100% foreign owned and 80 are joint ventures.

Most of the registered enterprises or 54.2% are located in the capital city of Baku, while 13.5% in Aran, 8.5% in Absheron, 7.9% in Ganja-Gazakh and 15.9% in other economic regions of Azerbaijan.
