On June 27, the Azerbaijan - Hungary business forum was held by Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) under the support of the Ministry of Economic Development.
Along with officials from both sides, the representatives of the companies operating in ICT sector attended the meeting.
The head of AZPROMO Rufat Mammadov highlighted the relations between two countries and noted that these relations are based on respect and friendship, mutual interest principles, and it paves the ways for the development of the relations in economic and other fields between the two countries. It was pointed out that both countries had great potential for further expansion of economic cooperation. The head of AZPROMO Rufat Mammadov highlighted constructive impact of today's business forum on stimulating business initiatives, creation of new cooperation opportunities and expansion of the bilateral trade relations. Then deputy minister of Communication and Information Technologies Elmir Valizadeh had a presentation on ICT policy in Azerbaijan. Deputy Minister pointed out that Azerbaijan launched its first telecommunication satellite into orbit this year and gave information on work done for the development of the ICT sector and forthcoming tasks in the development of information and communication technologies. It was noted that the measures successfully carried out in the field of ICT in the country increased the interest of the world's leading companies in Azerbaijan.Hungarian Deputy State Secretary for Governmental IT at the Ministry of National Development Vilmos Valyi-Nagy stressed the importance of expanding economic and trade relations between the two countries. Deputy State Secretary Vilmos Valyi-Nagy highlighted that there is a great potential for further development of economic relations, as well as in ICT.
The business forum was followed by the bilateral meetings between businessmen.
