Within the framework of the visit of United Kingdom delegation to Baku, the Azerbaijan-United Kingdom business forum was held on October 2, organized by the Azerbaijani Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) and supported by the Ministry of Economy and Industry. Along with officials from the both sides, more than 60 entrepreneurs working in the spheres of industry, education, IT, consulting and other sectors have participated in the forum.
The President of AZPROMO Rufat Mammadov in his speech provided information regarding the Azerbaijani economy, as well as trade and economic relations with UK. He emphasized that, thanks to social and economic policies successfully implemented in our country, sustainable and resilient economic development has been achieved, macroeconomic stability secured, favourable business and investment climate created. Resulting from this, the interest of foreign businessmen in our country is growing and the volume of investments put in Azerbaijani economy is growing year by year. Sustainable economic development of Azerbaijan and growing opportunities of our businessmen have made our country an investor itself.
Mark Higgins, International Trade Advisor of United Kingdom’s Trade & Investment (UKTI) provided information on UK economy, underlined the important role played by bilateral meetings and business meetings in widening relations between businessmen, said that keeping on organizing such events in future would greatly contribute to the development of economic cooperation as well as building new links.
At the business forum, the AZPROMO representative made a presentation about business climate and investment opportunities in Azerbaijan.
The business forum continued with bilateral meetings where businessmen of the two countries discussed fruitful opportunities for cooperation.
