Azerbaijan-Belgium Business Forum held in Baku

On April 29, Azerbaijan-Belgium business forum was organized by Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) with the support of the Ministry of Economy and Industry.
Along with officials, over 50 businessmen operating in agriculture, consulting, food processing, industry, energy and other sectors from both sides attended the business forum.
Welcoming the guests, the Vice-President of AZPROMO Vidadi Guliyev provided an insight into the economy of Azerbaijan. He said the country had ensured its sustainable economic development and macro-economic stability, and created favorable business and investment climate as a result of successful socio-economic policy. Mr. Guliyev noted that the Azerbaijani-Belgian economic relations are developing successfully. Seven documents have been signed between the two states, and currnetly, 19 companies with Belgian capital are operating in trade, construction, transport, communications, industry and other spheres in Azerbaijan. Vidadi Guliyev invited Belgian businessmen to take advantage of favorable business environment and investment opportunities, as well as to cooperate actively with Azerbaijani businessmen.
Director for Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS countries of the Wallonia Foreign Trade and Investment Agency (AWEX) Dominique Turner providing information about the economy of Wallonia, stressed the importance of bilateral meetings and business forums to strengthen ties between businessmen of the two countries. Mrs. Turner pointed out that the continuation of such events would contribute to the development of economic cooperation, as well as the establishment of new relations.
The adviser to AZPROMO president Natig Madatov made a presentation on the business environment and investment opportunities in Azerbaijan. Furthermore, AWEX adviser on trade and investment in Turkey, Eric Bletard made a presentation on the country's economy and business opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.
Then AZPROMO and AWEX signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The business forum continued with bilateral meetings in which the possibilities of cooperation between entrepreneurs were discussed.
