A press conference held on November 21 in Baku Business Center devoted to the first participation of Azerbaijan companies with “Made in Azerbaijan” national stand at the 10th International Wine and Spirits Exhibition took place in Hongkong special administrative area of People’s Republic of China, as well as to the results of export missions organized to Shanghai, People’s Republic of China and Sankt-Petersburg, Russia. The Head of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) Rufat Mammadov informed about reformes, carried out towards non-oil sector development, economy diversification, strengthening of private sector, non-oil competetive product manufacturing, favorable environment created for exporters, export enhancement, export missions organized to foreign countries, as well as the works conducted for the introduction of “Made in Azerbaijan” brand in foreign countries and promotion of foreign investments. AZPROMO vice-president Yusif Abdullayev said that Azerbaijan wines were for the first time presented with single country stand at 10th International Wine and Spirits Exhibition held in Hongkong special administrative area, People’s Republic of China. Azerbaijan wines and champaigns, fruit and herbs made spirits were demonstrated at specially designed 126 m2 “Made in Azerbaijan” single country stand. Within the exhibition, Azerbaijan businessmen held discussions on prospects of cooperation with potential customers and introduced with up-to-date technologies applied in wine production. The next export mission was organized to Shanghai, People’s Republic of China on 13-15 November. Export mission consisted of the representatives of local companies engaged in wine and spirits production. Azerbaijan export mission visited and held a meeting in International Trade Operation Center (ITOC) located in “Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone”- the first and biggest trade zone in China. It should be noted that exactly this center leases 300 thousand m2 square storages in free trade zone and provides high quality logistics and sale services to more than 10 thousand companies. Within the mission, a Memorandum on cooperation was signed between AZPROMO and ITOC. According to the Memorandum, it is planned to establish Azerbaijan Wine House in Shanghai.
