Japan expressed interest in expanding economic cooperation with Azerbaijan

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Azerbaijan Junichi Wada visited the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO).

During the meeting with the ambassador, Emil Mejidov, adviser to the Minister of Economy, emphasized the great potential for expanding cooperation in trade, economic, transport, logistics, and other areas between Azerbaijan and Japan. He spoke about the progress achieved by our country in the development of the non-oil sector, the continuous improvement of the business environment, and informed the participants about the Alat Free Economic Zone that creates additional opportunities for attracting investment in the non-oil sector.

Yusif Abdullayev, head of AZPROMO, informed about the work implemented by the organization to support exports as well as measures taken to promote the "Made in Azerbaijan" brand.

Ambassador Junichi Wada spoke about the development of economic partnership between Azerbaijan and Japan and expressed his opinion on the establishment of Azerbaijan's Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan.

Issues of increasing mutual investment and trade between Azerbaijan and Japan were discussed at the meeting.
