Azerbaijan-Swiss business forum was held on December 14 in Baku with the support of the Ministry of Economy and joint organization of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) under the Ministry of Economy and the Export and Investment Promotion Agency - AZPROMO.
In addition to officials from both countries, the event was attended by entrepreneurs working in the fields of industry, agriculture, ICT, banking, health, construction, logistics, transport, finance, food, etc.
Speaking at the forum, First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev noted the 30th anniversary of the development of bilateral relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Swiss Confederation in 2022 and provided information about economic and trade relations between the parties. The First Deputy Minister stressed that the business forum would contribute to the expansion of economic partnerships and the creation of new opportunities.
Erwin Bollinger, co-chairman of the Joint Commission on trade and economic cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federal Council of Switzerland, representative of the Swiss Confederation Federal Council for Trade Agreements, head of the bilateral economic relations department of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs expressed the interest of his country's business people in Azerbaijan's economy and shared his thoughts on the ways to expand cooperation.
KOBIA Chairman of the Board Orkhan Mammadov spoke about the support in the search for local partners, the implementation of joint projects with SMBs, and other areas that the Agency can provide to foreign entrepreneurs wishing to start a business in our country.
Yusif Abdullayev, head of AZPROMO, noted the importance of relations between the business communities of Azerbaijan and Switzerland and informed about the measures taken to promote the "Made in Azerbaijan" brand.
Chairman of the Board of Alat Free Economic Zone Valeh Alasgarov made a presentation on the investment potential of the economic zone, and Deputy Executive Director of AZPROMO Zohrab Gadirov spoke about business and investment opportunities of Azerbaijan; the President of the Swiss-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) Claude Haegi, the Managing Director of the Swiss Joint Chamber of Commerce (JCC) Dorit Sallis, Head of the Azerbaijan branch of JCC Leyla Bagirzade, and Chief Executive Director of ISR Holding and Co-Chairman of SACCI Operations Committee Rauf Khalilov made reports on cooperation between business people of the two countries.
As part of the forum, entrepreneurs held bilateral meetings and discussions on expanding partnerships and establishing new ties.
