Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan Business Forum held in Ashgabat

The Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan Business Forum organized in Ashgabat was devoted to discussing issues of deepening bilateral cooperation and making presentations on the business and investment environment of both countries.

The Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan Business Forum was held in Ashgabat jointly organized by the Export and Investment Promotion Agency - AZPROMO and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. In addition to officials from both countries, the event was attended by about 60 representatives of companies operating in industry, construction, logistics, food industry, agriculture, chemistry, financial sector, and other areas.

During the business forum, the Minister of Economy Mikail Jabbarov emphasized the upward trend in the development of trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan. It was noted that the existing agreements on the promotion and mutual protection of investments, elimination of double taxation, management of state property, and cooperation in the field of small and medium-sized enterprises have laid a solid foundation for sustainable and effective economic partnership. The development of trade relations with Turkmenistan brings positive results. Investment cooperation is also expanding with friendly Turkmenistan. There are favorable conditions for mutual investments. The business communities of our countries should actively implement mutual investment projects to ensure sustainable positive dynamics in the trade and investment sector. The partnership is important in such promising areas as energy, industry, transportation and logistics, agriculture, digital transformation, Alat Free Economic Zone, Baku International Sea Trade Port, etc. During the forum, the investors were provided with information on Azerbaijan's favorable business and investment environment, opportunities offered by industrial zones, and economic reintegration of our liberated territories, and Turkmen investors were invited to actively take advantage of business opportunities in our country.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Atdayev emphasized the importance of activation of business cooperation between entrepreneurial circles to continuously develop trade and economic ties with Azerbaijan. It was noted that meetings and events held in various formats and agreements reached will contribute to strengthening partnerships between business circles and the implementation of joint projects.

The business forum included presentations on the investment climate and business opportunities of both countries. The event also included B2B meetings held by entrepreneurs.
