AZPROMO unveils 2023 results at press conference

Information has been provided on AZPROMO's activities in 2023, the promotion of the "Made in Azerbaijan" brand, efforts in the field of export and investment promotion, events conducted, and plans for the current year.

On January 29, a press conference was held on the activities of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency - AZPROMO in 2023 and its plans for the current year. Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of AZPROMO, spoke about the development of the non-oil sector, especially the measures taken to increase non-oil exports, production of export-oriented non-oil products, the favorable conditions created for exporters, promotion of the "Made in Azerbaijan" brand abroad, and encouragement of foreign investments.

It was noted that in 2023, non-oil products worth $3.3 billion were exported from Azerbaijan to more than 110 countries, marking a 9.8% increase compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. This achievement is considered a new historical record. Additionally, AZPROMO's efforts in investment promotion were highlighted, including holding Investment Roadshow events. The Agency, in December 2023, secured the status of Regional Director for Central Asia of the World Association of Investment Agencies (WAIPA) for the third consecutive time.

During the press conference, information was provided on measures organized to promote Azerbaijan's export and investment opportunities, expand business ties of local companies with foreign colleagues, and develop partnerships. It was noted that AZPROMO organized 42 events last year, 23 of which were international. During these activities, the Agency signed 11 memorandums of understanding and 1 action plan.

The press release emphasized that within the framework of promoting the "Made in Azerbaijan" brand outside the country and introducing export promotion mechanisms in 2023, products of Azerbaijani companies were presented with a single country stand at large-scale exhibitions such as IGW Green Week 2023, World Food Moscow 2023, Anuga 2023, and the 6th International Import Exhibition in China with the support of AZPROMO. This year, local exporters participated in two exhibitions - the Iraq Fair in Baghdad and IGW Green Week Berlin 2024 - with the support of the Agency.

Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of the Agency, stated, "In the reporting year, contracts were signed at international exhibitions such as World Food Moscow 2023 and Anuga 2023 to export products including fruits, alcoholic beverages, confectionery, hazelnut kernels, and pomegranate juice."

Currently, 12 trade houses are promoting national products outside the country, and two more trade houses are expected to open this year in the Chinese cities of Chengdu and Nanjing.

Due to Azerbaijan's foreign trade missions, the expansion of the country's non-oil exports continues at a rapid pace, and the potential of non-oil exports is implemented at a high level.

The event also offered insights into the Agency's future plans, including responses to questions from media representatives.
