The forum hosted an exchange of ideas on the possibilities of activation and diversification of partnerships between business circles of Azerbaijan and Russia, and bilateral meetings between entrepreneurs.
A business forum "St. Petersburg and Azerbaijan Expand Horizons of Cooperation" was held in Baku with the organization of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency - AZPROMO. In addition to government officials, the event was attended by representatives of companies working in trade, healthcare, tourism, construction, consulting, and other fields.
Speaking at the forum, AZPROMO Executive Director Yusif Abdullayev noted that our economic relations with Russia are rapidly developing in all sectors. It was noted that business forums, export missions to different regions of the country, and participation of local entrepreneurs in exhibitions held in Russia are regularly organized together with Russian regions with the support of AZPROMO. Yusif Abdullayev reminded that the organization of export missions to Russia and St. Petersburg is planned this year.
First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovations, and Trade of the City of St. Petersburg Alexander Sitov shared his opinion on the possibilities of implementing mutually beneficial joint projects and deepening cooperation in the areas of shipbuilding, transportation, and high technologies. It was noted that trade turnover between Azerbaijan and St. Petersburg increased by 30% last year, and our country is the main supplier of fruits and vegetables to the city in the CIS region.
Vugar Zeynalov, Vice President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs' (Employers') Organizations, and Ruslan Mirsayapov, Russia's Trade Representative in Azerbaijan, spoke about the expansion of bilateral trade and investment ties at the event.
