Azerbaijan represented at International Olive Council Plenary Session

During the event, the main issues facing the Organisation in the coming period were discussed, member countries' reports on olive production were heard, and the flag of Azerbaijan was raised in front of the Council headquarters.

The Plenary Session of the 119th Session of the International Olive Council (ICO) was held in Madrid. At this event, Azerbaijan was represented as a full member of the ICO by a delegation headed by Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Spain Ramiz Hasanov and consisting of representatives of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency - AZPROMO and the Ministry of Agriculture.

Speaking about the opportunities that Azerbaijan's membership in the International Olive Council will bring to the country's economy and agriculture, Ambassador Ramiz Hasanov said that this membership will bring positive results to our country, contribute to the sustainable development of the olive industry and further strengthen Azerbaijan's position in the world olive market.

In his speech, the representative of AZPROMO spoke about the potential of the olive sector in Azerbaijan and the benefits of Azerbaijan's membership in the Council for the country's economy and agriculture.

As part of the regular session, a ceremony was held to raise the Azerbaijani state flag in front of the Organisation's headquarters. The ceremony was attended by representatives of IOC member countries, staff of the Organisation's Secretariat, and members of the diplomatic corps in Madrid.

Note: Members of the IOC, founded in 1959, are Albania, Argentina, Azerbaijan, European Union countries, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Georgia, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Montenegro, Morocco, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Turkey, Uruguay, and Uzbekistan.
