COP29 Business, Investment and Philanthropy Climate Platform, scheduled for November 13-14, 2024, in Baku, Azerbaijan is pivotal event is being organized by the COP29 Presidency and the COP29 UN High-level Champion for Climate Action in collaboration with Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan – AZPROMO.

Building upon momentum of success of the inaugural Business and Philanthropy Forum at COP28, the COP29 Business, Investment and Philanthropy Climate Platform will continue to drive ambitious global climate action across mitigation, adaptation and nature. The platform will kick off with a gala dinner on the evening of November 13, the second day of the World Leaders Summit, followed by a full day of impactful discussions on November 14, aligned with Finance, Trade, and Investment Day.

A whole-of-society approach is needed for climate action, with collaboration across business, finance and philanthropy.  We are therefore delighted that this event is being alongside our partners, the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Marrakech Partnership, the Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI), World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the World Economic Forum (WEF).

The platform is a vital opportunity for leaders across sectors to come together and drive meaningful action. By focusing on finance as the enabler of the transition, we are creating pathways to accelerate climate solutions that support both the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. This is a moment for bold collaborations that redefine how we invest in the future of our planet.
