During the event, a sustainable partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy, joint activities in the field of green development and infrastructure were discussed and a memorandum between AZPROMO and OICE was signed.
Within the framework of COP29, the Export and Investment Promotion Agency - AZPROMO was represented at the event "SustainabITALY" jointly organised by the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), the Italian Association of Private Construction, the Italian Association of Engineering, Architecture and Technical-Economic Consulting Organisations (OICE).
Speaking at the event, AZPROMO Executive Director Yusif Abdullayev noted that mutual business visits between our countries have greatly contributed to the expansion of trade and economic relations and that Italy is Azerbaijan's largest trade partner. It was noted that this year, for the first time, Azerbaijani companies, through the organisation of AZPROMO, presented their products at the unified stand of the country "Made in Azerbaijan" at the international exhibition "Macfrut 2024" in Rimini, Italy.
ITA Asia and Oceania Office Director Marco Forzini and OICE Vice President Fabio Pinton stressed the importance of strengthening the partnership between Italy and Azerbaijan in the framework of the green economy. It was noted that joint initiatives to be implemented in the field of sustainable infrastructure can play an important role in achieving the sustainable development goals set by our countries. Alfredo Storto, Head of the Government Office of the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, spoke about the projects implemented in Italy in the field of sustainable infrastructure and transport and highly appreciated the potential of the Azerbaijan-Italy investment partnership.
A Memorandum of Understanding between AZPROMO and OICE was signed at the event. The Memorandum provides for the promotion of joint activities, including green cooperation, between consulting companies of Azerbaijan and Italy.
It should be noted that the SustainabITALY platform hosted an exchange of views on strengthening business relations in civil engineering, architecture, technical consulting, project management, infrastructure, technology and innovation, business, and other priority sectors.
