On April 18, the Azerbaijani - Chinese business forum was held by the organization of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development.
Along with officials from both sides, the representatives of the companies operating in the field of food industry, construction, production of trucks, ICT, infrastructure, energy, processing, logistic, tourism, real estate and other sectors attended the meeting.
Deputy Minister of Economic Development Niyazi Safarov noted the successful development of the cooperation between Azerbaijan and China, and highlighted that the relations between the two countries were based on respect and mutual friendship principles, and the importance of the mutual visits of high level officials in the development of the bilateral relations. It was noted that up to now over 20 documents have been signed between Azerbaijan and China. The activity of Intergovernmental Committee of which 4 sessions held, played a significant role in the expansion of Azerbaijan-China relations. Deputy Minister of Economic Development Niyazi Safarov spoke about economic relations, and pointed out that the trade relations were the key directions of the cooperation between the two countries and trade turnover increased in 2012 compared to last year. Currently, nearly 70 companies with Chinese capital are registered in Azerbaijan.Deputy minister Niyazi Safarov highlighted constructive impact of today's business forum on stimulating business initiatives, creation of new cooperation opportunities and expansion of the bilateral trade relations.
Deputy President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Zhang Wei spoke about effective use of economic potential of both countries. He said that extension of cooperation between the businessmen would be significant for development of economic-trade ties between China and Azerbaijan.
Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Azerbaijan Hong Jiuyin gave information on the developing relations and the perspectives for further expansion of cooperation between these countries.
The head of AZPROMO Rufat Mammadov made a presentation on the economic successes of our country, favorable business and investment climate, the implemented projects, and highlighted Azerbaijan being favorable and alluring country for foreign investment and invited the Chinese businessmen to active cooperation.
Within the framework of the business forum Memorandum of Understanding on mutual cooperation was signed between the China Council for Promotion of International Trade and AZPROMO.The event continued with the bilateral meeting among the businessmen.
