On December 22 in Baku Business Center with the participation of officials, related state establishments, representatives of international companies and businesmen was held an event devoted to the promotion of “Made in Azerbaijan” brand and business development in 2017.
The Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev noted at the event that systematic reforms under the leadership of the President were continued in 2017, current year was successful for the country, achievement of positive results in prior fields of economy, due to the improvement of business and investment environment, stimulation of non-oil export and other activities Azerbaijan economic potential has further increased. The Minister of Economy marked that the share of non-oil sector export potential is quite large in Azerbaijan economy and for the realization of this potential the President of Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Ilham Aliyev set significant tasks towards provision of introduction to the new export markets, noted the importance of such issues as the enhancement of non-oil export geography, further consolidation of our positions in traditional markets, as well as introduction of competetive Azerbaijan products and “Made in Azerbaijan” brand promotion across the world. The Minister of Economy said that supporting mechanisms arranged for “Made in Azerbaijan” brand promotion have been successfully carried out and informed about the measures conducted in this field. He also marked that positive results from these measures have been already achieved.
Thus, in ending 2017, 10 export mission were organized to 10 countries, including Germany, Afganistan, Pakistan, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Hungary, China, Russia, UAE and Saudi Arabia, the participation of local companies in such international scale food exhibitions as "Gulfood", "Worldfood Moscow" və "Anuga", as well as in Prowein" və "Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair" international wine exhibitons under the single country stand and local businessmen were paid export promotion in amount of over 2.7 mln.manats for non-oil products export through the year. Initial agreements were reached on the export of Azerbaijan products in various foreign markets, contracts signed and in a few cases actual export carried out.
No doubt, these steps taken towards support of business and investment on the state level will enable further significant increase of export-oriented products manufacture share in Azerbaijan economy, further improvement of products’ quality, as well as enhancement of competetive local product sorts both in domestic and foreign markets.
For the special attention and support to the private sector development, Shahin Mustafayev expressed gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan Republic.
The Minister of Agriculture Heydar Asadov marked the special attention and care to this field by the President and talked about obtained laws and orders, conducted institutional reforms and favorable environment created for agriculture products exporters, as well as the stimulation of agriculture products export. He also noted that carried out agricultural reforms within successful economy policy gives actual results and marked the significance of businessmen engaged in this field.
The Chairman of State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev in his speech talked about the tasks set by the President of Azerbaijan Republic before the State Customs Committee and marked the reforms and measures carried out in this field through 2017.
The President of Businessmen (Employers) Organizations National Confederation Mammad Musayev talked about the state care to the business and marked the significance of conducted reforms towards business support and state-businessman relationships further development as well.
The Chairman of Fruits and Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association Bashir Guliyev talked about activities carried out by the Association established last year on the order of Azerbaijan Republic President and support of Ministry of Economy towards production and export of fruits and vegetables.
The Chairman of Nuts Producers and Exporters Association Ismayil Orujov noted that there is great potential for nut growing development in Azerbaijan and marked the importance of promotion activities carried out by state support. It was also noted that Association-member companies take advantage of new supporting mechanisms, particularly export promotion and measures on introduction of “Made in Azerbaijan” brand and enhance their export potential as well.
At the event by the order of the President of Azerbaijan Republic 23 businessmen and the representatives of business organizations were awarded with orders and medals for their contribution to the development of economy of Azerbaijan Republic and efficient activity on the realization of state policy towards business enhancement, 8 companies selected by the nominations specified in the sphere of “Made in Azerbaijan” brand promotion awarded by the Ministry of Economy.
