On December 25 in Baku Business Center was held wide-content meeting of Azerbaijan-Russia and Russia-Azerbaijan Business Councils. Apart from officials, the event was attended by representatives of companies engaged in industry, construction, banking, food, engineering, metallurgy, transport, farmacy and other fields.
Before the meeting in Baku Business Center hall Russia delegation saw the stands with information on Azerbaijan economy and the guests were informed about country economy.
Azerbaijan Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev making speech at the wide-content meeting of Azerbaijan-Russia and Russia-Azerbaijan Business Councils marked that Azerbaijan-Russia relationships are successfully developing in policy, economic and humanitarian fields. He noted that Russia is one of Azerbaijan’s main trading partners and positive development dynamics in this field is observed. In Azerbaijan’s total trading turnover for 2017 Russia took the 3rd position. In the export of Azerbaijan non-oil products Russia took the 1st position. It is not by accident that the first trading representation office of Azerbaijan was established exactly in Russian Federation. Azerbaijan attaches special value to the development of relationships with Russia and from this view the application of up-to-date mechanisms towards enhancement of economic-trade cooperation is important. The establishment of Azerbaijan pavilion in Russian Exhibition Center in Moscow, Azerbaijan Business Center in Astrakhan and analogical Astrakhan Business Center in Azerbaijan, as well as opened today Representation Office of Russia Export Center are the few of these mechanisms.
Established in 2016 Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council is a favorable platform for the development of relaionships among businessmen and conducting mutually profitable investment projects as well. The Minister Shahin Mustafayev highly estimating activities carried out by business councils for today invited Azerbaijan-Russia and Russia-Azerbaijan business councils to discussions on the concrete development directions with the participation of AZPROMO and Russia’s analogical establishment. The Minister noted that the establishment of joint-stock enterprises in Azerbaijan industry parks, the cooperation in petroleum engineering field, as well as agricultural products manufacture for Russia markets may be such cooperation spheres.
Maxim Oreshkin, the Minister of Economic Development of Russian Federation noted with pleasure that within Russian delegation visit to our country he was received by the President of Azerbaijan Republic and marked that an exchange of ideas on the development of economic cooperation held. Sharing his ideas on Russia-Azerbaijan economic cooperation Maxim Oreshkin noted that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia is being carried out in trade, investment and other fields and Azerbaijan businessmen realized several successful projects in Russia. The Minister also marked that opened today in Baku Russia Export Center Representation Office and Russia-Azerbaijan business councils will serve to the development of businessmen relationships cooperation.
Vice-chairman of Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council Yusif Abdullayev and the Chairman of Russia-Azerbaijan Business Council Pyotr Fradkov talked about the activities of business councils, the Head of AZPROMO Rufat Mammadov, the Governor of Russian Federation Arkhangelsk province Victor Ikonnikov and the Director of Russia “Intra Service” company Alexandr Shilov informed about the enhancement prospects of cooperation among the businessmen.
