On January 24, the next meeting of the Steering Committee of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) was held in Cape Town, Republic of South Africa. Taking into account the AZPROMO’s active role in WAIPA and contribution to the development of this organization, the head of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation ( AZPROMO ) Mr. Rufat Mammadov was appointed  by the Steering Committee as the vice-president of WAIPA.

Note: WAIPA was founded in Geneva in 1995 and has 244 members from 162 countries. The main objective of WAIPA is to develop understanding and cooperation among the investment promotion agencies,  strengthen information gathering systems in investment promotion field and assist to member organizations in advising their respective governments on the formulation of appropriate investment promotion policies and strategies. AZPROMO retains the Director of WAIPA for South Caucasus and Central Asia.
