Minister of Economy Mikail Jabbarov met with Azer Talybov, Chairman of Roseximbank, during his working visit to Baku. Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Bocharnikov and Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council Samed Gurbanov also took part in the meeting.

Having noted the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Russia, the Minister of Economy stressed that the political will of the heads of states, mutual trust, and friendship constitute the main driving force of the countries' bilateral relations. It was noted that the two countries have established successful cooperation in transport, transit, investment, industrial, tourism, and other areas. As one of Azerbaijan's major trade partners, the Russian Federation ranks first among our country's non-oil export destinations. However, the trade turnover has a great potential for increase, as expanding relations with the Russian Export Center, Roseximbank OJSC, and organizing business trips between business circles of the two countries can contribute to increasing the scale of mutual trade.

The parties exchanged views on strengthening relations between the regions of Azerbaijan and Russia, including the trade, economic, and investment partnership, the participation of Roseximbank in financing several projects in the country, and improving the efficiency of foreign trade financing instruments.
