The sides exchanged views on the activities of Colombian companies in Azerbaijan and the intensification of trade between the two countries.

The Export and Investment Promotion Agency - AZPROMO hosted a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Colombia to the Republic of Azerbaijan Luis Fernando Cuartas Ayala.

During the meeting, AZPROMO Executive Director Yusif Abdullayev presented information on the Agency's activities, including measures to support entrepreneurs through single window functions, export promotion mechanisms, Azerbaijan's investment opportunities, and trade partners. It was noted that by organizing various events at local and international levels, AZPROMO goes beyond the functions of similar organizations. In addition, it was noted that AZPROMO cooperates with PROCOLOMBIA to promote Colombia's tourism sector, investments, and non-traditional exports.

Noting the political relations between the countries, Ambassador Luis Fernando Cuartas Ayala talked about the potential prospects of organizing activities of Colombian companies and representative offices of foreign companies operating in his country in the economy of Azerbaijan. It was noted that one of the issues of current interest is the export of coffee, flowers, and pharmaceutical products from Colombia to Azerbaijan. At this level, an agreement was reached to exchange information between the parties and ensure the support of AZPROMO to coordinate the activities of entrepreneurs working in our countries.
