At the Azerbaijan-Tajikistan Business Forum held in Baku, information on the business and investment environment of our countries was presented, bilateral documents were signed, and B2B meetings were held.
The Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan - AZPROMO organised the Azerbaijan-Tajikistan Business Forum.
Speaking at the Business Forum, Minister of Economy Mikhail Jabbarov stressed that the political will of our heads of state and friendly relations play an important role in the development of relations between our countries in all spheres. Our countries interact both in bilateral and multilateral formats, as well as within the framework of international and regional organisations. Trade and economic cooperation with Tajikistan is developing. In the first four months of 2024, trade turnover between our countries increased by 78 percent. There are ample opportunities to further improve this indicator. In addition, there is great potential for the implementation of joint projects in light industry, chemical industry, mining, and other spheres.
At the forum, information was presented on favourable business environment in Azerbaijan, the transport and logistic potential of the country, opportunities created for investors in our liberated territories, industrial parks, and implemented projects, as well as opportunities for cooperation within the framework of COP29, which will be held in our country in November this year, and Tajik colleagues and business people were invited to the active partnership.
Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan Sherali Kabir stressed the importance of such forums and events held with the participation of business structures of our countries in terms of establishing effective cooperation between business circles and also expressed his views on the development of economic and trade relations and investment partnership with Azerbaijan.
Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan - AZPROMO, Sultan Rahimzoda, Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Bahriddin Sirocidinzoda, Director of the Export Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, spoke about the business and investment environment in Azerbaijan and Tajikistan and the opportunities for cooperation between the two countries. At the forum, documents were signed between the relevant structures and business entities of the two countries providing for the implementation of joint initiatives and cooperation in the spheres of industry, agriculture, investment, tourism, etc.

Meeting held with the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan
Minister of Economy Mikail Jabbarov met with Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan Sherali Kabir. At the meeting, it was noted that high-level mutual visits, meetings, events, and business relations play an important role in the progressive development of the economic partnership between the two countries. It was stated that it is important to support joint activities with Tajikistan in the fields of energy, development of the aluminum industry, agriculture, and textile production.
During the meeting, the parties considered the possibilities of strengthening bilateral trade and economic relations.
