Montenegro-Azerbaijan Business Forum held in Podgorica

The event focused on exchanging ideas on expanding trade and economic relations and joint investment. Presentations on business and investment opportunities created in both countries were given to entrepreneurs to expand the partnership.

The Montenegro-Azerbaijan Business Forum, jointly organised by the Export and Investment Promotion Agency - AZPROMO, the Montenegrin Economic Chamber, and the Montenegrin Investment Agency was held in Podgorica within the framework of the 3rd session of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of Montenegro. In addition to officials from both countries, the event was attended by representatives of companies operating in the fields of tourism, construction, industry, cosmetics, food, beverages, logistics, and information technology.

Speaking at the Forum, Minister of Labour and Social Protection Sahil Babayev said that relations between our countries are constantly developing in a spirit of friendship and cooperation, and noted the importance of high-level mutual visits and constant political dialogue for the further development of our relations. Noting that Azerbaijan is one of the main investors in Montenegro, the Minister underlined that there is a significant untapped potential for cooperation between our countries in the fields of energy, transport, and trade.

Speaking at the event, Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy, Minister of Economic Development Nik Celošaji said that increasing trade turnover between the countries is one of the main goals of the country. The sides underlined the role of business forums organised in this process. The Deputy Prime Minister appreciated the prospects for the implementation of joint projects in tourism, transport, logistics and agriculture.

At the Business Forum, representatives of AZPROMO, the Montenegrin Economic Chamber and the Montenegrin Investment Agency made presentations on the investment environment of the countries, including promising projects implemented in the countries. B2B meetings were held during the forum.
