Within the framework of the visit of the delegation headed by Edil Zhanburshin, akim (major) of Aktau city of Mangistau province of the republic of Kazakhstan to our country the Azerbaijani-Kazakhstan business forum was organized by Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development on April 17.
The event covered the representatives of the companies operating in the fields of construction, recycling and solid waste, food industry, alternative energy and other sectors, along with officials.
Welcoming the guests, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development Niyazi Safarov spoke about the high level of political relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, it's giving an impetus to the improvement of cooperation in the economic and other fields, and great potential of both countries for further expansion of relations in the economic sphere. Deputy minister Niyazi Safarov highlighted constructive impact of today's business forum on stimulating business initiatives, creation of new cooperation opportunities and expansion of the bilateral trade relations. It was noted that there was sustainable legal base between the two countries. Up to now, 9 sittings of Intergovernmental commission on cooperation on trade and economy between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan were held. At present, more than 30 companies operate with Kazakh capital in Azerbaijan and a number of Azerbaijani companies are represented in various sectors of Kazakh economy.
Edil Zhanburshin, akim (major) of Aktau city of Mangistau province of the republic of Kazakhstan gave information the measures carried out in the development of the different sectors of economy of the country as well as in Mangistau, and he stressed that there was a great interest in Kazakhstan in the expansion of relations with dynamically developing Azerbaijan, and experience of Azerbaijan in various spheres of economy, especially in agrarian sector. It was noted that, last year the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan was more than 450 million dollars. Zhanburshin spoke about a great potential in Kazakhstan for the development o f relations with Azerbaijan. Edil Zhanburshin invited the businessmen to invest into the various sectors of Aktau.
The head of AZPROMO Rufat Mammadov made a presentation on the business and investment climate of Azerbaijan.
The presentations about "Invetsment prioties and economic potential of Aktau", "Aktau Sea Poart" special economic zone" and other issues were made in the business forum.
