Azerbaijan-Netherlands business forum was organized by Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) with the support of the Ministry of Economy and Industry on November 21.
The forum was attended by the representatives of about 50 companies operating in logistics, industry, consulting and shipbuilding sectors, along with officials from both side.
Head of Administration of the Ministry Samir Valiyev noted that the relations between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands are developing, and both countries attach special importance to the enhancement of the cooperation. Azerbaijan and the Netherlands have great potential to enhance the economic relations. Up to now Azerbaijan and the Netherlands have signed a number of documents on the development of cooperation in various spheres. Currently, the relations in various fields of trade and economy between the two countries are successfully developing. At present, the companies with Dutch investment are operating in various spheres of Azerbaijan's economy.
Samir Valiyev gave information on Azerbaijan's economy, too. It was noted that, as a result of social-economic policy sustainable economic development and macroeconomic stability was maintained, favorable business and investment climate was established. In addition, Azerbaijan has a wide range of transit opportunities and favorable geographical position. Samir Aliyev stressed that Dutch companies can take advantage of these opportunities and underlined the importance of the business forums, business meetings and other events held with the participation of entrepreneurs in the development of economic relations.
Rotterdam Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb expressed satisfaction with his visit to Azerbaijan, gave information about the major economic spheres of Rotterdam. He invited Azerbaijani entrepreneurs to actively cooperate with the businessmen from Rotterdam.
Head of AZPROMO Rufat Mammadov and Central and Eastern Europe regional manager of the Netherlands Export Promotion Council Willemiek Everts made presentations on the business and investment environment of Azerbaijan and the Netherlands.
Video of Rotterdam was demonstrated during the forum, bilateral meetings were held between the businessmen of the two countries.
