Azerbaijan next export mission is in Shanghai city of People’s Republic of China. Export mission organized for “Made in Azerbaijan” brand promotion with support of Ministry of Economy and organization of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) includes representatives of local companies engaged in wine and spirits production.
Several successful results have already been achieved within the export mission that will last till November 15.
On November 13, the first day of the visit, Azerbaijan export mission visited and held a meeting in Shanghai Waigaoqiao International Trading Operation Center (ITOC) located at China first and biggest trade zone “Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone”. “Shanghai welcomes Azerbaijan wines” announcement in electronic board at the center entrance was an indicator of China great interest in Azerbaijan products. It should be noted that this center leases out its 300 thousand square meters storages located at free trade zone and provides high quality logistics and sale services to more than 10 thousand companies. Import and export capacity of the center is valued in 10 billions of USA dollars.
In the meeting organized with support of Azerbaijan Embassy in China, AZPROMO and Azerbaijan Trade Representation Office, AZPROMO vice-president Yusif Abdullayev informed the attendees about business environment in Azerbaijan, our competetive and export-oriented products, the member of a company represented at export mission Elmar Saidov talked about Azerbaijan wines. ITOC General Director He Guoguang gave information on the center activity, the Head of Shanghai Pudong Spirits Association Baohua Huang talked about the activity of Association, which has 117 importer company members. Baohua Huang said that the import of Azerbaijan wines will be delivered to the attention of Association company-members and cooperation in this field will be conducted.

A Cooperation Memorandum between AZPROMO and ITOC signed within the meeting. According to the Memorandum, AZPROMO will rent from ITOC storages and related placement for demonstration of our products.
This placement planned to be named “Azerbaijan Wine House” and favorable conditions created here will enable our business owners to present local products at high level.
ITOC also owns “Directed Imported Goods” (DIG) stores network. The key element of these stores is that only imported foreign goods are sold here at a premium. On the next stage is is planned to sell Azerbaijan products in DIG stores network as well.
Within the meeting ITOC representatives created appropriate conditions to Azerbaijan business owners for presentation of their products to the guests visiting free trade zone. Azerbaijan products were met with great interest by ITOC visitors. ITOC taking into cosideration this interest and attention purchased a certain amount of Azerbaijan products.
Azerbaijan wine producers and exporters held several double-sided meetings within the event, acquainted with ITOC storages and DIG stores network, as well as with a pavilion developed jointly with 16 countries and made interchange of views on Azerbaijan Wine House concept.
The visit of Azerbaijan export mission to Shanghai was widely covered by China media.
AZPROMO vice-president Yusif Abdullayev and Azerbaijan Trade Representative in China Teymur Nadiroghlu gave interviews to local channels. In the interviews they delivered to the media attention the measures carried out towards the execution of the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev on the Promotion of “Made in Azerbaijan” brand.
Today Azerbaijan export mission will visit “ProWeine China 2017” Exhibtition, hold meetings with local producers and representatives of foreign companies participating at the exhibition and visit several stores in Shanghai.
