On 22 June, Azerbaijan Trading House opened in Kiev.
The officials from both countries, the members of study group on Azerbaijan-Ukrainian Parliamentary relationships and businessmen attended the event.
Total square of Azerbaijan Trading House established by the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan Republic is nearly 300 m2.
Azerbaijan Trading House will deal with the further promotion of “Made in Azerbaijan” brand in Ukrainian market, as well as promotion and enhancement of Azerbaijan products export and will organize sale of products in Ukraine and realize relationships in this sphere. In the permanent exhibition room of Trading House various products manufactured by about 30 Azerbaijan companies (fruit juices and stewed fruits, mineral waters, olives, tea, fruits and vegetables, patisserie, spirits, Naftalan oil, knitting and cosmetic products, etc.) are being presented. Generally, 85 sorts of wine, 26 sorts of cognac, 37 sorts of tea, more than 30 sorts of fruit juices and stewed fruits, as well as more than 150 sorts of other products are presented in the exhibition.
The Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Republic Shahin Mustafayev in his speech in the opening ceremony emphasized that the opening of Azerbaijan Trading House in Ukraine is the mark of interest in the enhancement of sincere friendship and economic-trading relationships between our countries. It was noted out that Azerbaijan-Ukraine cooperation based on mutual respect improves successfully; our peoples are joined through historical friendship. As a result of high political willing of Azerbaijani and Ukrainian state leaders, the relationships between our countries today are on high strategical level, a stable contract-legal basis developed, a Council of Presidents of Ukraine and Azerbaijan, as well as Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation function as well. Azerbaijan and Ukraine cooperate within international organizations and support each other in territorial integrity issue as well.
It was also marked that Ukraine is one of the main trading partners of our country and according to the results of 2017 Ukraine was 6th in Azerbaijan’s foreign goods turnover. Generally, a positive dynamics is observed in the volume of commodity turnover between our countries. Commodity turnover between Azerbaijan and Ukraine during 2017 increased for 2.5 times and reached up to 810 mln. dollars, through 4 months of current year compared to the same period of last year increased for 8% and comprised 261.7 mln.dollars .
Shahin Mustafayev noted that the development of cooperation in investment field is significant and marked that there is great potential for realization of mutually profitable projects. Up to now, Azerbaijan has invested in 362 mln.dollars (286 mln.dollars in oil, and 76 mln.dollars in non-oil sector) in Ukraine, which, in its turn, invested 25 mln.dollars in non-oil sector of Azerbaijan. About 150 companies with Ukrainian investment function in industry, construction, trading, agriculture, transport, service and other fields of Azerbaijan. The Minister Shahin Mustafayev emphasized that Azerbaijan is also interested in the enhancement of relationships with Ukraine and noted that Azerbaijan Trading House opened in Ukraine will play significant role in the development of economic-trading relationships between our countries, stimulation of business initiations, as well as in promotion of high-quality Azerbaijan products under the name of “Made in Azerbaijan” brand in Ukrainian market.
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv expressed his gratification from the visit of Azerbaijan delegation to Ukraine and marked the significance of such visits in the development of cooperation and business relationships between our countries. Stepan Kubiv noted that Ukraine pays special attention to the cooperation with Azerbaijan and expressed his certainty in the further enhancement of mutual relationships, shared his ideas on potential cooperation prospects, as well as emphasized that the startup of Azerbaijan Trading House in Kiev is an important step to the development of trade-economic cooperation.
A contract on the export of 130.000 bottles of wine between Azerbaijani “Aspi-Aqro” LLC and Ukrainian "Spirit Drink" companies has been signed in the event. In the opening ceremony of Azerbaijan Trading House, Azerbaijan wines tasting and a concert with art masters were organized.
At the end, the participants were introduced with Azerbaijan Trading House and permanent exhibition of Azerbaijan products.
