The Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladislav Kanevsky. The meeting emphasized that relations between the two countries are at a high level with special emphasis being placed on the development of cooperation, and that relations in various sectors of the economy are being successfully developed.
The Minister of Economy stressed that the victory of our brave army under the leadership of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, Ukraine's firm position on Armenia's policy of aggression and support for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity were highly appreciated by our country.
Touching upon economic relations between the two countries, Mr. Jabbarov said that the agreements reached during the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Azerbaijan in December 2019 and the 12th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine in January last year have further increased economic activity.
The Minister of Economy spoke about the great potential for the development of economic cooperation. Emphasizing Azerbaijan's support for the creation of new mechanisms that can contribute to the development of economic ties, Mr. Jabbarov proposed establishing a Working Group on economic cooperation and an Azerbaijan-Ukraine Business Council within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission.
Sharing his views on the development of trade and economic relations, Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladislav Kanevsky pointed out his country’s interest in partnership with Azerbaijan in a number of areas, including privatization and in the participation of Ukrainian companies in projects to restore the liberated territories.
The meeting discussed the possibility of boosting the Azerbaijani-Ukrainian economic cooperation.
