AZPROMO was represented at the elections of the WAIPA Steering Committee in New Delhi. The Agency was once again elected as Regional Director of the Central Asian Association.

The General Assembly of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) was held on the sidelines of the 27th World Investment Conference (WIC) held in the Indian capital New Delhi with the participation of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency - AZPROMO. The meeting included voting in connection with the WAIPA Steering Committee's leadership duties for 2023-2025, the future status, priorities, and activities of the Association.

Having participated in the election, AZPROMO was awarded the status of WAIPA's Regional Director for Central Asia for the third consecutive time. Other results saw Invest India elected as WAIPA President, while Switzerland Global Enterprise and Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Organization were elected as Vice Presidents of the Association.

AZPROMO's re-entry into the Steering Committee will allow the agency to participate in making strategic decisions for WAIPA, including the acquisition and exchange of the best international experience in the field of investment attraction, as well as determining plans for joint workshops and training programs in this area.

It should be noted that WAIPA, of which AZPROMO has been a member since 2010, includes more than 140 member agencies from more than 100 countries. The main objectives of the association are to expand cooperation between investment promotion agencies, exchange information in the field of investment promotion, and assist member organizations in shaping investment assistance strategies.
