Azerbaijan admitted as a member of the International Council

Azerbaijan has been accepted as a member of the International Olive Council, which operates under the auspices of the United Nations.

Azerbaijan has been accepted as a member of the International Olive Council (IOC), which operates under the auspices of the United Nations and brings together countries that produce and consume olive oil and table olives.

It should be noted that the IOC was established in 1959 and its members are Albania, Argentina, Azerbaijan, EU countries, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Georgia, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Montenegro, Morocco, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Turkey, Uruguay and Uzbekistan.

The Council's activities include promoting international technical cooperation in research, training, and technology transfer, developing trade standards, increasing the share of olive oil and table olives in international trade by improving product quality, organising meetings between government representatives and experts to implement close cooperation with the private sector, etc.
