With the support of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, joint organizational support of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency – AZPROMO and the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA), a Hungarian-Azerbaijani business forum was held in Budapest within the framework of the 9th meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Government of Hungary and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Apart from officials from both countries, the forum was attended by companies operating in the fields of pharmaceuticals, food industry, agriculture, construction, industry, consulting services, etc.
The business forum was addressed by Sahil Babayev, Co-Chairman of the Joint Commission from Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan's Minister of Labor and Social Protection, and Peter Szijjártó, Co-Chairman from the Hungarian side, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.
It was emphasized that the cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Hungary is constantly expanding thanks to the efforts of the heads of state and the signing of important documents. It was noted that the development of ties between the two countries' business circles is one of the primary goals of the Intergovernmental Joint Commission, and the business forums held in Baku and Budapest contribute to achieving this goal.
The meeting participants expressed satisfaction over the fact that Hungarian entrepreneurs have expressed interest in participating in the large-scale construction and restoration operations currently underway in the Azerbaijani territories liberated from Armenian occupation, noting that the participation of friendly countries in them is a priority.
Addressing the forum, the head of AZPROMO Yusif Abdullayev informed the participants about the Agency's activities, export promotion, the work implemented to increase investments in the non-oil sector, and AZPROMO's cooperation with various institutions in Hungary. It was emphasized that our liberated lands have significantly increased the potential of the non-oil sector in Azerbaijan and that over 50 Hungarian companies have applied for participation in Karabakh projects.
The Business Forum included bilateral meetings of entrepreneurs, discussions on the expansion and intensification of partnerships, and the establishment of new ties.
