Research and development programs and projects

This is a support measure designed to create and develop a new export-oriented product or production technology and reduce production costs and increase the added value of an existing product.

The amount payable for this support measure totals 50% of the incurred costs (maximum 100,000 AZN per project). The measure allows to carry out 10 research and development programs over a period of 1 year.             

Specialized local/foreign legal entities and/or physical persons implementing research and development programs shall be selected through a competition and based on requests from exporters.

The (maximum) amount payable per this measure of support totals 10,000 AZN

The announcement on the competition of exporters shall be posted in the Announcements section at least 15 days before the date of the competition.             

After the submission of applications, the contest commission established by the Ministry of Economy shall hold a competition on a predetermined date to select exporters as well as evaluate the applications and make a decision.

The requests of exporters shall be evaluated on the following criteria:

• production and export potential of the exporter;
• the positive impact of the creation and development of new products/production technologies on increasing the production and export potential of the exporter;
• the positive effect of the research-development program on the reduction of production costs and increase of the product’s added value;

The contestants shall be notified of the results within 2 working days after the competition.
A positive decision shall be made regarding the candidates with a minimum passing score on the above criteria, including implementing the research and development program.
